project recruitment - global team building
CCLIENT
Tate & Lyle Plc. is a manufacturer and global supplier of food and beverage ingredients. The client's business transformation program involved implementing accounting and ERP software, SAP. The leadership planned to roll SAP out across the EMEA and north US regions, where TL had plants, offices, and commercial business units. EMEA was stage one, and North America was stage two, creating 2 phases of the programme delivered by two teams.
PROBLEM
The client hired an expert executive leader, head of the global program, who needed to build a strong team around him. The project recruitment refers to both SAP rollout phases: EMEA and North America. At this stage, I had been with the programme for 18 months and worked for the former leadership as a PMO analyst. Knowing the background and business and being aware of risks and issues, I joined the new administration and took ownership of the global project recruitment.
SOLUTION
I organised and strategised the TL project recruitment function. I contacted hiring managers and SEMs (subject matter experts), obtained job descriptions, highlighted the specific requirements and must-haves and confirmed the role budget with the project finance controller.
I worked with the procurement manager and shortlisted preferred suppliers, selecting from the top London agencies specialising in SAP contract work. We reviewed and renewed existing contracts and prepared new agreements for the chosen agencies.
Once the programme head and TL CEO approved the resourcing budget, I executed the process from "go to market" to "make an offer" on behalf of the leadership. I documented each step in the Project recruitment document, which I recorded in TL SharePoint. I applied the same approach when recruiting the SAP project team for TL North America.
RESULT
I successfully onboarded 40+ specialised contractors and consultants in the UK and the US. My actions and contributions fixed outstanding project issues in the EMEA region and kept the SAP implementation in the US within the desired time and budget.
