STRATEGIC PLANNING - GATHER, verify and STRUCTURE MASTER DATA
CLIENT
Deutsche Bank AG is a German multinational investment bank and financial services company headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. The bank is operational in 58 countries and has a significant presence in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
PROBLEM
The corporate real estate department, which acquires and manages all the bank's buildings and related services in the UK and Ireland, recorded data in multiple Excel spreadsheets, contracts, and documents. A centralised system did not exist. Property managers struggled daily without structured, quality data and had to conduct extra searches and cross-checks. London's office had an online database tool, but it was the first time anyone had ever entered or managed data. I saw the requirement for a centralised master database with reporting functionality that the leadership and property managers could utilise.
SOLUTION
I took ownership of the cluttered, challenging situation, requested the database tool training, identified gaps, and drafted solutions. My work involved the entire data management process, including collection, verification, entry, updates and reporting. I shared my knowledge and results with DB's strategic team and the lease administrators, who looked after some of the most prestigious properties in the City of London.
RESULT
The corporate real estate department had the first online centralised database providing master data about Deutsche Bank's building portfolio. The online tool allowed for easy access to quality data and reporting, which enhanced strategic leadership decisions. In addition, my contribution improved client service for all 30+ buildings in the portfolio.
